A couple of things to consider:
1. They are using some other means to reach the higher swingweight. "Mouse glue" would be my guess (a stickly liquid injected into heads to stop rattles and to increase swingweight).
2. People aren't playing the driver at D3. I've been MOI matching woods and irons and a low to mid C swingweight isn't unusual.

Thanks for the response and I totally agree with everything you said. The question I've been pondering is whether or not the pro's are using the same set up that Ping offers for there G2 driver specs. Which are a 193 gram head with a 67 gram shaft at 45 3/4" = D3 swing weight. I called Ping and they are claiming that all the G2 heads are really close to 193 grams and there is no way I can get a heavier head in the driver I ordered. I just can't believe any pro that is use to a 200+ gram head at 45" or less could switch to the G2 specs. I have a feeling that Ping does have some heavier heads stashed away for the pro's and are giving me the run around when it comes to getting one. Oh well, I guess I'll have to rely on my trusty lead tape again.

Jason, it doesn't matter what "the pros" are doing. We aren't on Tour. We are for the most part, hacks - chops - crappy players, compared to PGA guys. If PGA Guy "long knocker" is hitting a "Super Ti Widget" 20 yards longer than the last club he had, its because the last club he had went just as far but the manufacturer has deep pockets and can advertise a lot.
Look at it rationially; All of us, including me, a one time scratch player, pretty much hit the ball the same distance, give or take a couple of yards, most of the time. The long drive guys are hitting XXX shafts in, this year, Callaway prototypes, 385+ yards. Does that mean we can do it? Nope. Not a chance.
Ask yourself seriously . . . and I mean that . . . what will an extra 10 yards do for the "average" hacker? Mostly, not a damn thing. I've built clubs for guys who insisted on what "the pros" are using. Mostly what's happened is that the clubs came back for softer shafts or higher lofts, or both.
Forget what's on Tour. Work with your customers. Fit them properly. They'll be a lot better off than if they're hittin 43 1/2" X flex "Tiger" shafts.

Subject: ShopTalk: Ping G2 Driver?
Has anybody tried the new Ping G2 driver? I heard they are 45 3/4" long with a swing weight of D3. I would think D3 is light for a 45 3/4" driver. The club head must be around 193 grams. I'm finding several tour pros are switching to this driver and are claiming to get 20 extra yards. My question is: Are the pros using the same length of 45 3/4" @ D3, or are they going with shorter lengths with a heavier head? Are they getting the extra yardage from the added length and light swing weight, or is it the technology in the club head that is giving them extra yardage?
