This is exactly my point. As noted in some of the test results the distances between clubs was not very discernible, except for the higher lofted clubs. I make my clubs with the intent of having an approximately 10 yard difference between clubs. This in turn gives me and my customers more distance control on the course.

I agree that the key is going to be component heads that are specifically designed for single length clubs, and that is exactly what Tim Hewitt at myostrichgolf is doing right now. He is several iterations into the design of the head, and may have the final design in hand at the PGA show. These heads will be specifically designed to overcome any shortcoming associated with single length clubs (i.e. lofts will be designed with the proper gaps, head weights will be identical, lie will be identical, etc...). The positives are many for a single length set of clubs: same swing plane for all irons, single frequency for all clubs (no slope considerations), exact MOI and swingweight match for all clubs, same total weight for all clubs, one ball position for all irons, larger head on the lower lofted irons (i.e. 3-5 irons), etc...
