ShopTalk: High MOI putters

I had a chance to try a Ping Doc 17 branding iron and I was really 
impressed.  Till now I have not liked face balanced putters.  They seemed 
to be prone to face angle wobble in my hands.  Using a "toe down" balanced 
putter seemed to calm things nicely for me.

But, I had never tried a face balanced putter with the weight pushed so far 
out from the balance point.  Wow.  That was one stable putter head.  Ugly 
too!  Actually the thing that would keep me from buying one is that it 
glares in the sun.  Hard to imagine that Ping could not see that.  But I 
digress.

So, has anyone experimented with the various high MOI component 
putters?  Any feedback, recommendations?
