DaveT gave you a good pointer with Constantines, they have been around for ages.

So has DaveT.

When I was growing up (in the '50s) and a young adult (in the '60s), Constantine's was in the east Bronx. Living in the southeast Bronx myself, I could easily walk there. (Hey, city kids and even city adults walk everywhere. Probably don't own a car. If they own a car, they don't want to lose their parking spot -- especially if they can walk it in a half-hour. Hell, it'll take longer than that to find a new spot and walk home from there.)

It was cool to be able to walk right into Constantines' shop and pick out the piece of veneer or lumber I wanted for my project.

Cheers!
