Hi:
I do club making as a hobby, so please excuse me if any of the
following questions are not phrased properly. Any information you can
give me would be greatly appreciated.
Graphite raw shaft at 43 1/2", butt clamp 5", tip weight 205 grams, cpm
255. (Golfsmith frequency meter). Same shaft with 50 grams grip
installed rechecked cpm new reading 247 cpm. (Average reading -8 cpm
difference.
1. What is the playing flex 255 cpm or 248 cpm?
2. If raw shaft is true flex, do we make an allowance of +10 cpm
softer when gripped?
3. On assembled clubs, do you make allowance of +8 to 10 cpm for
playing flex?
4. Same difference of 8-10 cpm for gripped 5 iron, 38" (283 cpm)
Received responses from Dave T, Dynacraft, Tom Wishon. Mean't to keep
for reference, but misplaced during clean-up.
Thanks for any information you can give me.
Sincerely,
Philip J. Perry
