ShopTalk: Cleaning out hosel bores

Hi. I was just wondering if there were alternate/different ways to go about
cleaning out hosel bores than what is posted below.

Weirdest thing happened to me the other day as I was drilling the hosel bore
for final cleaning I kind of went through the bottom(just like a wood with a
plastic plug). This was on a OEM iron. Do irons develop rattles? Does
Taylormade make irons with plugs? Your comments are greatly apprreciated.
