Possibly. As long as a butane torch is used and the heat is directed mostly
towards the face(heel portion) and towards the titanium portion of the head.
Propane and heat gun are out of the question. The wet rag keeps the ferrule
cool . I was also thinking club shield from GW but that was not necessary.
I am no Arnie nor TFlan but from my experience and readings people use too
much heat and not enough force. I always try to use minimum heat then try to
pull. If that does not work a little more heat.
André.

Andre-
I think the ferrule adaptor is the secret. If you don't have that and heat
the ferrule to remove, it's possible to end up heating the head too much.
John
I have copies of the article written a couple years back and the most
recent
one. That being said GS suggests using a heated rod down the shaft.I did
not
want to go that route. I removed a shaft last night from a ERC using a
butane torch(heat was directed on the face and edge away from the carbon
composite joint) with the special ferrule adaptor. After putting
everything
in place I applied some force to the head then started the heating
process.
After market epoxy did not give me any problems.Head came out easily. Here
is the original article.

Hope this helps.
André.

Golfsmith has an adaptor that'll make it much easier. They had a good
article in their recent clubmaker magazine on the process. The
ferrule is a nightmare to remove if you simply heat it. It won't stay
soft long enough after heating to remove it easily. You also have to
be careful not to heat the head too long as it can cause problems
with the epoxy between the graphite on the head and the titanium.
I'm sure Arnie has a do-it-yourself adaptor idea, too.
John
Hi,
I have a Callaway Fusion to re-shaft. Any secrets to getting the
shaft & ferrule out?
Thanks,
