Graham nailed it right on. From a Cobra press release...

"The King Cobra Baffler Utility Metals are offered in four iron replacement
lofts in men's, women's and senior models. The Men's and Senior Baffler
Utility Metals are identified as 2/R (18.0º), 3/R (20.0º), 4/R (23.0º) and 5/R
(26.0º), where the model number corresponds with the iron it is recommended to
replace. The women's clubs are 3/R (23.0º), 4/R (26.0º), 5/R (29.0º) and 6/R
(32.0º). "

Great piece of trivia for that first round of the season which will
hopefully be arriving soon.. Although the snowboard is still out and the golf
clubs
are hung on the wall, so I'm not sure how soon that will be...

Cheers!
Steve

My guess is that it refers to the iron that it would replace. In other words
if it's a 3r then it would replace a 3 iron. I'd also guess that the hybrid
would be a bit longer in the shaft length but hit the ball higher. The result
would be that you would hit it to about the same distance.
How's that for thinking outside the box? Let us know when you find out.
