BillyBob's have a great Callaway 335 factory style ferrule adapter for this job.
335 is a good shaft for golfers with high swingspeeds - his problem is not the 
shaft.
I agree with Robert, he is probably hitting the club near the heel.
Get him to try some impact tape to see where on the face he is contacting it.
I use 335 shaft adapters in the Callaway Ti 454's all the time with no problems.

I have a customer looking at a XX flex shaft to put in a Callaway. I 
was going to simply shim it or use an adaptor and a .335 shaft but 
wonder if it's not a good idea with that fast a swing. He seems to 
break a lot of shafts.
