Big Don:
All you're really doing on Twitter is setting up your own home page and following posts that you choose to receive. Sort of like Shoptalk but you go to a page with only the subjects you choose to read about. Be careful, you can get addicted to it! I usually check in once a day to see what's new with the people I follow. I've done the Clubmaker Report for quite some time now. Sign up through my home page if you like at http://clubmaker-online.com

I would prefer not to have to start using Twitter. :)

The Report thing sounds good. I like the announcements here but you have had some negative or contrary replies sometimes, which always seemed a bit careless, considering.

Lately I've had opportunities to get
some great pricing on components and I'm trying to figure
out the best way to announce these sort of things without
filling up your mailbox and without having the hassle of
justifying the post to someone with an agenda.

I've been doing quick twitter posts at http://twitter.com/golfcast and it's a convenient way
to send out a quick announcement while you still have
control over the information you'd like to have delivered
(you set up your own twitter account and "follow" the people
or companies you deem appropriate by simply going to your
own personal Twitter page). I promise you won't get any "I'm
eating scrambled eggs" posts from me.

It's really a fantastic way to get information that you're
interested in if it's done right.

I'll also be announcing special pricing/new products at my
Clubmaker Report newsletter so if you'd prefer to receive this information this way, then I'd be happy to sign
you up for The Clubmaker Report. You're also in complete
control of this information and can unsubscribe/subscribe
 yourself at any time. It's 100% opt-in. There's a sign up
spot at my home page http://clubmaker-online.com .

Only disadvantage to relying only on The Clubmaker Report
is that I try to limit the report to once a week so your
mailbox isn't cluttered. If I hear of an offer on Thursday
and announce it at my Twitter feed it may be sold out by the
time I send the Clubmaker Report the following Monday or
 Tuesday.

Though indirect sponsorship opportunities are still
available (like the http://aldilavoodoo.com link below
included with each Shoptalk email), this new direction will
free the Shoptalk list so you can continue to discuss the
technical aspects of clubmaking without overt commercial
 interruptions.

Let me know what you think.

By the way, I send out monthly information on new golf equipment called The Clubmaker Report, would you like me to add your email address to it? Send me a quick note if yes.
