OK, I built a long driver last night. I used stuff I had on hand. A 199g offset Dynacraft Avatar 460cc head that sits quite closed, on a UST Low Carb 52g S flex shaft.
I put on my favorite grip, which is a bit heavy at 65g. It weighs 322g and swingweight is D8 at 47.75". Obviously a 40g grip would get the weight way down there where Bernie recommends it, albeit with a heavy head. My intention is to choke down to 46.5 - 47, and have a counterweight effect. The freq is 236 cpm which is about 6.5 on the PCS scale, so that seems stout since I fit to a 4.7 in my 44" driver. Wish me luck! :) -Don M -- Shoptalk ** Sponsored by the new Aldila Voodoo.
