Ah geez - I went through this about 6 months ago with a Titleist driver. It
wasn't a plug though, it was a piece of metal scraping that fell through the
hole in the hosel that got there by the owner trying to drill out the shaft.
Yep, an "easy job" the guy was told by an "expert". Just drill the the old
shaft out and shove the new one in. The guy drilled the aluminum sleeve
through, and opened a hole it the hosel wall. A few pieces of the aluminum fell
into the head.

I spent an hour with tweezers and a jury rigged, small flashlight pointed into
the hosel, tweezing pieces out of the head. I eventually got most of the stuff
out but couldn't get it all. So a liberal application of rat glue and a couple
days to let it set fixed the rattle, but what about the hole in the hosel wall?

I cut a sleeve from an aluminum soda can, sanded rough, epoxied it into the
hosel, epoxied the new shaft in and waited a couple days to let it cure. I took
the club to the range and hit a couple dozen balls. No problem. I hope that if
the guy decides to get it reshafted again, and takes it to someone else, he
doesn't tell the guy who did this job.
