That's a great story and it is great for you because not many people have
the opportunity to be involved with mentoring a youngster. You can have
such an impact his life and his golf game because you are not his parent,
so he will listen to you. AND one day he will thank you.

I have the same situation with my neighbor boy. His Great Grandfather told
me that he really likes to play golf and he practices in his yard. We live
in the country so a yard can be very large. So, I took him to my club and
got a couple of bags and headed to the range. He is 10 1/2 and had never
been on a golf course or a range. I had never seen him swing. So, I asked
him to take a couple of swings and I almost fell on the ground. His swing
was perfect and he hit some good shots. We played nine holes and he was
overwhelmed. My wife bought him a complete set of clubs. I also bought a
hitting net and a really good mat so that we both can practice. My kids
are all grown up and I love working with him. He is really a good kid.
Sorry for going on and on, but it makes me feel good to maybe have an
impact on a youngster, especially when they are a really good person.
