We have discovered that the 5.2.4.3 patch files do not apply cleanly to the 5.2.4.2 code base. This has been a problem off an on through the years, so we have been considering enhancing our tool chain to more thoroughly vet the generated patches. As far as we know, however, there were only two maintainers who are using the patches to produce patch releases for their distributions. At this point, one of the two maintainers (Greg Tourte) is no longer using the patches and the other (Tuomo Soini) is willing to change his workflow.
Are any other maintainers using the patches to generate patch releases? If not, we may decide to stop releasing them or to continue releasing them, but for informational purposes only.
