This is not a shorewall issues. You should log into your logging
daemon - syslog. I have used syslog-ng in the past to filter out all
shorewall messages and send them only to a logfile.

Same issue - not shorewall, but the syslog daemon. Syslog-ng is the
only better one I know, but there might be others of course.
