Thank you for those words Tom. I had just one aim, guarantee Shorewall 4.0
would be released by the end of the year, with the hope it would make it into 
Debian Lenny.

I would encourage people to try the new Perl compiler, especially those who
have complained of performance issues with shorewall start/restart. I think
they will be amazed.
