I spotted this when tried to built a bare-bones/minimalistic Linux (FC13-based) version to be deployed on one of my machines (using kickstart files).
When I include the kernel and shorewall packages (with very little else) to be installed by yum/rpm, the bc package (providing Math functions to shorewall) is NOT included and neither is listed as a dependency necessary to run shorewall. The shorewall starts and works perfectly well without this package, though when I try to execute 'shorewall iprange' I get an error from a library in /usr/share, which is caused by missing bc package. Once this package is installed the problem goes away! I am using shorewall version 4.4.8. Don't know whether this is fixed in later versions? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
