Hi,

No kernel wasn't installed. 
Uname output is as below:
oot@router:~# uname -a
Linux router 3.2.0-38-generic #61-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 19 12:20:02 UTC 2013 i586 
i586 i386 GNU/Linux

It was the same before the upgrade.

No -- Are you sure that there wasn't a kernel update? What is the output of 
'uname -a'?
