Okay...we can go ahead and ignore this 'problem'. I've rebooted since I wrote
the original post into the mailing list for other reasons (my cpu heatsink fan
is croaking on me <mutter>) and suddenly the apcupsd is working. Don't have a
clue why, but problem solved and I didn't have to do anything to my shorewall to
let it communicate. Very strange, but I'm happy and I apologize for troubling
everyone with this as it turned out to not be a shorewall thing.
