To All:

I have a few servers that I ssh into so I wanted a way to differentiate them when I login so on Shorewall I created two files for message of the day (MOTD). You should be able to  use one or the other in almost any distro.

One is a text file that the system prints out (Fedora) the other is a sh file that needs to executable (Ubuntu/Debian), both are in the compressed file enclosed. Below is a screen shot.

File placement Ubuntu /etc/update-motd.d/10-help-text

                          Fedora /etc/motd

For other may have to search to find the file.

Those who develop Shorewall are welcome to use these.

This is what happens when you have time on your hands.
Hope you guys enjoy!!
