I'm running Shotwell 0.18.0 on Xubuntu 14.04. I have some photos with no
exposure date in the EXIF data. When I select the photo in Shotwell and
go to View, Extended Information, it shows the file date as "Exposure
date". This strikes me as misleading since the file date is unrelated to
the exposure date.
I would never have noticed it was the file date, and not the EXIF
exposure date, if I hadn't run IrfanView and looked at the EXIF data,
where those photos have nothing for exposure date.
So my suggestion is that if there is no EXIF exposure date, Shotwell
should show nothing for "Exposure date" in the Extended Information
window. Same applies to exposure time.
