Very nice. Scrolled through some of your commits, I think I can answer
a couple of your "why" comments.
I do not now how GNOME's github mirror is working tbh. Interesting. the
commit is there, but the tags aren't.
Btw. GNOME's gitlab has a win32 CI builder, which might be helpful.

I think, I have made good progress so far. Most features seem to
work. Now, I would like to test my code changes with the new 0.30.8
release. However, I cannot find the release tag in the Github
repository, only in the Gitlab repository at

only get synced at certain intervals?
