Yorba has released Shotwell 0.8.0, a major update to our digital photo
manager. This release includes some great new features, such as:
....
We highly recommend that all Shotwell users upgrade.

Yorba would like to thank all of our bug testers and translators, without
whom this release would not have been possible.

You can download a source tarball from the Shotwell home page at:
http://www.yorba.org/shotwell/

Binaries for Ubuntu Maverick users will be available shortly on Yorba's
Launchpad PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~yorba/+archive/ppa<https://launchpad.net/%7Eyorba/+archive/ppa>
).

Very useful to Ubuntu users no doubt, but when will a Debian package
(or an rpm for that matter) make it into mainstream repositories for
the major distros like Debian, Fedora? Debian still lists 0.6 as the
current Shotwell version, even in the testing distribution.
