OK. So I get it is not true that 'You can certainly tag only a part of the branch, not the full branch, in Shotwell today'. > It sounds like what you might want is a preference which tells Shotwell to > export only terminal (leaf) tags, not parent tags. Would this be good > enough? Not exactly: what I would like (but I don't really know how many users are in my situation i.e. many tags organised in a rather complex tags tree) is Shotwell exporting only the tags I *explicitly* assign. At least in the flat list (Xmp.dc.subject), maintaining correctly as per the mwg guidelines the complete tags structure only in the hierarchical tags fields (Xmp.digiKam.TagsList and Xmp.MicrosoftPhoto.LastKeywordXMP). In effect, the mwg guidelines explain the exact behaviour I'd expect. [check http://www.metadataworkinggroup.org/pdf/mwg_guidance.pdf page 64] I don't really know if this solution can be implemented, I don't know the interferences with exiv2 and exiftool and so on. -- Web: http://traversin.org GNU/Linux user 190604 _______________________________________________ Shotwell mailing list [email protected] http://lists.yorba.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/shotwell
