Since I'm still experimenting I've been making a fresh start when things go wrong. To do this I've quite shotwell, then deleted all references to shotwell in my home directory (~/.gconf/apps ; .cache ; and .shotwell). I've also notice that when I quit shotwell it leaves a zombie process behind that's not cleanly killable, so I reboot too. However, when I rerun shotwell it doesn't run it as a new install (no initial import dialogue for instance and it's remembered my preferences), so I'm assuming there's some more information stored somewhere.

When it all gets messy, what's the best way of starting over cleanly?

Thanks,

Dougie
