- What operating system version are you running?

- What version of Shotwell are you running?

- Is Nautilus in your PATH?  In other words, what do you see in response to 
this command?

$ type nautilus

(I know that you want to use Thunar rather than Nautilus, but Shotwell checks 
for Nautilus explicitly so the presence/absence of Nautilus could be relevant 
here.)
