Hi

On Ubuntu 11.04 and earlier, the default EOG program displayed Canon CR2 photos properly. Further, irrespective of whether one launched EOG on a single photo in a folder, or multiple photos in a folder, a single instance of EOG launched, and it provided forward & back navigation arrows.

Move forward in time to Ubunto 11.10 and now 12.04. EOG does not work in either distribution, it displays a checkerboard mosaic instead. There is an open EOG ticket for this (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/860672) but it shows no signs of being fixed.

This therefore leaves Shotwell Photo Viewer as the only alternative to full-blown Shotwell, for viewing photos from Nautilus. However in this context the Viewer has at least two deficiencies

1. If I select multiple CR2 files in Nautilus, I get multiple instances
   of Shotwell Photo Viewer
2. No instance has the forward and back navigation arrows enabled

These are not show stoppers but they are VERY annoying characteristics.

Is there a way around either behaviour?

Regards
Bruce
