According to http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/3565, the answer is No, not unless you want to merge the two sets of photos before you import them into Shotwell. Is that right? I see in the text of that ticket repeated use of the tern "event". What is an "event"? To me, it is not an obvious concept in the domain of managing photos.
