And I have seen stuff in the log indicating that it does write when you
remove.. but maybe only photos, not videos?

Just added a .3gp-video. Nothing written. But it did appear in the DB a
while after adding.

Then removed it. Nothing written. But did disappear from the DB and
populate missing files.

Then added a .jpg. Nothing written, nothing added to the DB.

Then removed a .jpg. Written in the log.

Running shotwell 0.14.1-1~quantal1.
