currently i try to do something against these navit low performance
stuff.

now i have some quesetions:

Compiler: there is a configure option "--avoid-float". the oe toolchain
does ask the TARGET_FPU var to set the configure flag if it is "soft". i
can't find anything about the fpu settings for shr. does freerunner
have an fpu in hardware or is it better to avoid floading point stuff?

X: while i found that the huge cpu usages is caused of the osd items
which are in config, i asked myself, why did the author of the osd
layout did not have had the problem? does anything change in X? ok, the
real reason why there is the high usage, the osd is repainted every
single gps tick. thats to many for the freerunner, now. i try to fix it,
but the querstion: why does it work, somwhere in the past?
X,Glamo,kernel,gtk (did not try sdl)?
