There is a workaround for eve crashing:

Nice, thanks a lot, however which crash does it fix: the second start crash?
or the crashes during navigation too?

The eve workaround fixes the crash on second start, but it also fixes the crash on first start when you hit back or go to a web-page you have been to during that session.

Could you explain what is going on with midori? Is it a matter of
adding some new icons to the default theme?
I think so.
opkg install midori, and run it in console:
It will tell which icons are lacking.

I am looking into the midori crash. Adding gtk-add.png to /usr/share/icons/hicolor/?x?/actions (22x22 I think) makes it work. I am going to see if midori is loading the icon in an unsafe way because other icons fail to load but don't crash the program.
For me, SHR-core is finally getting to the point where it better than
the last SHR-unstable which is exciting and I am looking forward to
running it on my GTA04 when it arrives.
Unfortunately for me an SHR phone should be usable as phone everydays, here's
my use case:
  * telephony(phone calls, sms etc... )working. for the phone calls having it
on headphones(trough whatever means, for instance a bluetooth sound card where
you plug headphones and has a microphone would be ok too, but that's harder to
integrate in software...) would be so nice because of the medical
dangerousness of the phones.
  * beeing able to play music trough headphones(that requires a decent
headphone sound quality, and consequent storage).
Podboy does some sort of bluetooth audio, maybe it could be adapted to intone/enjoy as well?
  * beeing able to have a decent browser that doesn't crash so often(for
instance to do the login trough captive web pages, and browse the web).
  * The hardware musn't allow the modem to spy on the main CPU(trough shared
memory or filesystem access), to control the microphone or the GPS.
Isn't the GTA04 UTMS chip fairly loosely coupled to the phone (I seem to remember it being usb)?
Denis.
For me the worst things are the enlightenment/illume issues.
Icons can be grabbed instead of clicked and end up on top of everything (#1548) clicking on the clock on top bar brings up a calendar (maybe this is on purpose?) rotating the screen with xrandr causes problems (#1806) and shrinking text (this was discussed a while ago but I can't find it-will test and add a ticket if still there)

  Ben
