I've notice also that it "wakes up"/unblanks the screen too and the
screen/backlight tend to use a lot of power.

and does not unblank the screen too :)

same here. I've noticed that with intone and pythm. With top on my
gta01, frameworkd python and enlightement processes are showing up.

I'm curious ... Do you have a specific device in mind ? afaik shr for
now is supporting only gta01/gta02/m800 and they all have buttons.
