I upgraded now (12:28UTC 28/08/2008). I replaced my
frameworkd.conf/rules.yaml earlier with
"frameworkd-config-shr_0.9.5.9\+gitr1648\+f17ff26d072a80821b
d7eaae859659fd0fa982d4-186\+fd61a50e505ad3953e5523ba01fdc6483b1f891b-r7_om-gta02"
but that didn't help. But this sounds good so back to fso-abyss...

BUT! I too am missing this package:
r...@om-gta02 ~ $ opkg install libfsotransport0
Installing libfsotransport0
(0.9.3+gitr408+7e1c1a3e2eebbcaefdb35f5b56342e7c727a576e-r6.1) to
root...

*one reboot later*

r...@om-gta02 ~ $ grep abyss /etc/frameworkd.conf
# choose your muxer, available types are: gsm0710muxd [default], fso-abyss
ti_calypso_muxer = fso-abyss

:D GSM works!
*runs tangogps*

2009.08.28 22:43:57.587 frameworkd.resource INFO setting resource

:D GPS works!

So in conclusion, I suspected it was the config which I usually don't
replace, I replaced it and nothing improved. I install a missing
package and it works! (I was going to try the other suggestions in
replies too, sorry I tried this suggestion first and it worked :P)
