great job! no need to announce, we will find it ourselves :) 

What if you use image widget notification rather then text based for
GSM operator, battery etc... then we could also see the G for active
GPRS connection and in the same way GSM signal is shown (bars) we could
see GPS signal quality :))))

I use opimd-utils to read messages so it works for me, just haven't
received any message today yet to see it the marking as read is working
now :)
