Just a bit more information, now that I have watched it for a while. GSM is
cycling off > SOS Only > on about every five minutes. I double-checked
frameworkd.conf for ti_calypso_deep_sleep = never. 

I should note I'm really such an amateur that I have never been able to run
an upgrade on the OM -- from any distro -- without practically breaking
everything. Unstable was perfectly stable before this morning!
