I've had a somewhat similar issue since my last update on Sept 5th. But I haven't moved to Launcher yet, so what i see if different.
I *do* see the notification that I got a new SMS message. However, I used to also get a popup window containing the new message automatically. I no longer see that, so I have to stop the messaging app and restart it to see the new message, which is rather annoying. I see the same behaviour on the testing candidate.
