Its not really an error ... that is its telling only part of the story. Yes, the path did change, so the hackish workaround to keep compatibility with older kernels was to use both paths one after the other, and ignore the errors.
Its in the code somewhere, tracked it down once ... I think its probably worth raising a bug as I doubt its needed anymore.
