Hello all,

I have been trying to create a Greek keyboard layout for my new
Freerunner, running SHR-unstable.
I have followed the wiki instructions and created a qwerty-like layout
for the Greek alphabet, but I'm having trouble selecting the proper
way to implement accented characters (i.e. ά,έ and the like).

From the mailing list archives I understand the original intention was
for accents to be handled by the dictionary, by stripping accents
before matching.
I have installed a Greek dictionary from Ooo, but it appears that
Greek accents are not stripped, making this approach useless to me:
only unaccented words are properly matched.

This leaves me with two options:

(1) Provide an extra keyboard layout for accented characters, similar
to the Latin-1 accents found in the Numbers layout

This would be easy to do, but very inconvenient, as almost all Greek
words are accented.

(2) Hijack the caps-lock modifier for accented characters.

This is somewhat problematic because, apart from being a cludge,
capital letters can also be accented, so I need to be able to input
both ά and Ά. Some letters also have two accented forms, e.g. ί and ΐ,
so the caps-lock layout would turn into a real mess.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dimitris
