I would add another additional constraint : only if this is the case AND while you're NOT on battery. > (b) in the case where gps is being used but no log being made, the > phone is suspended while the gps remains active? > if only when you're ON battery, yes ;) For instance, I have a car lighter adapter to power the FR while using the GPS, and in such case, it should be kept on with the display not auto-dimmed, as regular GPS do.
