Quick update: reinstalling fsodeviced fixes it (at least
        temporarily)

    Not for me.

    # opkg install --force-reinstall fsodeviced

After this, I can make a call. I can adjust the mic volume, but
not below a certain value. If I go below, it jumps up to 90% or so.
A big problem - my phone is not buzzfixed. A low mic volume fixes the
buzz very well, but now I can't do that. Incredibly frustrating!

While I drag the slider around, I hear the buzz. If I hold the
slider still at low volume, the buzz disappear for a split
    second and then comes back.

Same here :(

It is as if the slider really do set the volume the way
I want - but then some ape goes and set it right back to useless 90%
again. Is something monitoring the volume levels and "fixing" them?
Trying to protect users against setting the volume 'too low'?

Nothing like that, it's a bug I wasn't able to trace yet, but I will :P

I am looking forward to that. :-)
At least I learned where the gsmhandset.state file is kept, and how to
modify it. I now have an icon that restores my preferred settings.
