I make that as follows (after a little experimentation on shr-t a few
days back):
Listed in order that the events occur, with my personal preference for
timings
1. idle (30 secs) - the important one, how long before
initial semi-dim
2. idle dim (1 sec) - slightly darker dim
3. idle prelock (1 sec) - display blanked
4. lock (0 sec) - locked (i think this should be immediate that
the display is blanked to prevent accidental actions)
5. suspend (60 sec) - one minute further before suspending so
that if I just missed it i don't have to hit the screen and then go
"huh?" before remembering to hit the power button.
hope that helps

Last nights upgrade of shr-u packaged got me very short timeout times for the
various stages of dimming and suspend, again. Five seconds until dimming is
way too short for any useful activity. Please set the default timeouts to
something more sane.
Why does the upgrade interfere with my settings, in the first place?
Is this deliberate?
BTW, the order of timeout variables in the list Settings->Power seems is not
quite natural. Currently, it is
1 Lock
2 Idle
3 Idle prelock
4 Idle Dim
5 Suspend
If I understand the times correctly, it should be:
1 Idle Dim
2 Idle
3 Idle Prelock
4 Lock
5 Suspend
While at it: Please make sure, the times are always consistent. A prelock
time shorter than lock is an error and should be automatically corrected.
