Normally, the gps finds the location in about 7s if ephemeris data is
available. (I.e. last use of the device was less than 30 min ago.)
Or it took about 2 min when data was not available.
But not any more. An upgrade that fixed lots of address book breakage,
broke the gps instead. Usually, I get no fix at all. Once, it came up
after I turned the gps from "auto" to "manual"+"on". But even that trick
doesn't work reliably.
Is something happening to gpsd?
