Your only problem might be that you need to know the IP the WLAN interface gets. I assume that is the problem? How hard it is would probably depend on your DHCP server. If it always gives the same IP to the client, it should be fairly easy to remember or set up an entry in the hosts file (or even your local DNS if you have that). If the IP can differ I guess the only thing you can do is to look it up with ifconfig on your FR after connecting and then enter that manually into your desktop.
