What I used to do to check if there are any messages on the sim doesn't
work anymore!
I can still check the messages one by one using:
mdbus2 -s org.freesmartphone.ogsmd /org/freesmartphone/GSM/Device
org.freesmartphone.GSM.SIM.RetrieveMessage 1

showing a missed call message (I wish SHR did something useful with these!).
It seems that at some point SHR stopped deleting messages from the sim and
maybe it filled up? A bunch of the messages on the sim are in the PIMDB
already.
Suggestions on what is going wrong?
