If you update eve to latest version (with cookies support and better theme), to make it works correctly (i.e. accepting cookies and allowing you to log-in) check that in More -> Preferences -> Tweaks -> Cookies Policy you have selected the "Do not accept 3rd party cookies" options and not the "Never Accept" one.
This happens since when the eet configuration file is updated with the new setting field; it would be too tricky defining a default new value just for this parameter. The issue doesn't happen on new installations or removing the ~/.config/eve/config.eet file. The cookie file is stored at ~/.config/eve/cookies.txt instead!
