I'm still having problems due to my company firewall config. They may be
partly avoided by installing CVSweb (or ViewCVS) on Netlabs. There also
is a new Java program on sourceforge that allows to grab CVS snapshots
through the CSVWeb interface (although one cannot do updates, obviously).
Alternatively, I have ported GNU HTTPTunnel (is on hobbes), and we may
try to configure that. But many people had problems making it work
through M$ proxies and firewalls, and I am unfortunately behind all of
them :-(
