*Title – Sybase DBA* *Location – Columbus,OH* *Duration – 6 to 12 Months* *Rate - $50/hour* Note – *the client would conduct in person interviews hence we prefer local candidates* *Requirements:* Ø The primary function of this job is to bring expertise level of experience regarding Sybase ASE database administration and Replication Server administration and tuning to address existing production problems Ø The incumbent will lead the effort to work with other DBAs to identify root cause and should be able to recommend/test/implement necessary database configuration and architectural changes to solve existing performance and production problems Ø The position will require the incumbent to make decisions regarding resolution of production problems during normal business hours and during off hours to minimize system unavailability Ø The incumbent will be part of the team to work on possible database migration project from Sybase to Oracle/MySQL Ø Must possess self motivation and strong communication skills to manage customer relations with emphasis on verbal/email communication and problem solving skills Ø Must possess good analytical and documentation skills Ø Willing to cover 24*7 oncall pager rotational support if needed *Qualifications: * Ø Degree in Computer Science related discipline or an equivalent academic/experience combination Ø 10 plus years of database administration (DBA) experience on Sybase DBMS.
