Hi,
I've installed XCrysDen on Windows under cygwin.
It works fine but it really had some problems installing.

I had to use compiled binary.
Also you have to have installed Tcl/Tk (this is a separate package for Windows http://www.activestate.com/Products/activetcl/) and OpenGL (Mesa) - I think this one installs from cygwin distributive.

The other problem that might arise if you work in the network and XCrysDen might take your cygwin home directory same as your Windows home
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\.xcrysden
but the problem is that it doesn't understand spaces in path
anyhow you should check what it takes as $HOME and create .xcrysden folder there with 2 small config files. The problem is that you cannot create a folder starting from . in Explorer, so you have to copy it (see attachment)

And don't forget to source the profile.
In my case I have to do it manually every time before running xcrysden.
I just type

. ~/.bashrc
xcrysden

As for siesta2xsf compilation, the only problem I'm aware of is that you have use the same compilation flags for siesta2xsf as for siesta itself. Particularly, the problem lies in single or double precision of all used variables.

If you continue to get errors - just post them here, that would help to understand what is your problem.
