Dear Chris Rowan: Thank you for your question, I am taking the chance to update everyone on the problems that we have been suffering about the mailing list.
Our mailing list is hosted by the Central Computing Center at UAM (CC-UAM). At the beginning of August, a large renewal of computers took place at CC-UAM involving migration of hardware, software and large amount of data backup and restore. Unfortunately, a couple of things were changed that directly affected our siesta-l mailing list: 1) It seems that about 200 users of our mailing list were mistakenly not backed up. So this 200 people stopped receiving messages from the list. I guess most of them have not been aware of the fact for the most part. And we only realized of this about 2 weeks ago. We immediately reported our suspicions to CC-UAM and they managed to find and restore those 200 users quite recently. [*] 2) Another thing was changed: The headers of the messages distributed by SIESTA-L. They changed notably in several fields. The consequence is that the robot at mail-archive.com is not considering the messages arriving to it as belonging to SIESTA-L anymore. Of course, together with the CC-UAM staff, we are currently taking action, we have changed back some labels to the headers in the hope that mail-archive.com retakes them (you may have noticed a couple of test messages I sent). These efforts seem unsuccessful as of yet, but we will surely manage soon to restore normality to the archive. You will be reported about it.
