But at least now you see the two processes, correct ?.
1) Have you run siesta's tests ok ?.
Moreover, you've said you compiled BLACS+SCALAPCK with OpenMPI,
thus
2) Have you checked your BLACS is working ok ?.
3) Have you run scalapack's tests ok ?.
... and the last two
4) Aren't you running out of memory perhaps ?.
5) Have you checked you're able to run MPI programs at all ?

PS: BTW, a friend of mine told me she had a lot of troubles running
siesta in an Ubuntu box, but I can't recall which Ubuntu's version.
